Three Cameroonians Caught Selling Counterfeits

16 09 2011

Found this article today about three Cameroonians that were caught selling fake Chinese drugs. Penda Geougs, Nana Patrice and Andrea Capoel were arrested by officials of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. They were arraigned in Port Harcourt because there is no Federal High Court in Ebonyi State.

They were arraigned on a four-count charge of importing, selling, distributing and possessing unregistered, fake and counterfeit drugs. They were operating a clinic outside of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. When they were picked up they were caught holding six bags of assorted counterfeit pharmaceuticals labelled in Chinese.

The suspects ALL pleaded not guilty to these charges… Go figure. Hmm.

I love the go figure comment. It’s crazy how people try so hard to get out of being in trouble for stuff, even though they’ve been caught red handed. I mean, six bags of counterfeit drugs labeled in Chinese! Come on, it was in their hands and they plead not guilty?! Well I say the drugs say otherwise. I’m glad I got to read your post.
