Charles Anthony Jones, 48-year-old from Dallas, plead guilty to aiding and abetting the trafficking of counterfeit sexual enhancement pills on Thursday in Federal court. He could face up to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $2 million when he is sentenced. He was arrested about two months ago, in August, by Irving police and Food and Drug Administration agents.

Jones, along with others, imported fake Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra, which are sexual enhancement drugs. Then they allegedly turned around and illegally sold them online. He was arrested after selling some of the fake drugs to undercover officers and police seized business cards from his that said “Erection Connection.”

He was accused of conspiracy to traffic and attempt to traffic in counterfeit goods and charged of violating the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by dealing “misbranded prescription drugs.” Along with that, he also faced six counts of trafficking in counterfeit goods and five counts of introducing and delivering misbranded drugs. The Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act strictly states, “That nearly everyone involved in cosmetics in interstate commerce, such as manufacturers, packers, distributors, and retailers, is responsible for assuring that he or she is not dealing in products that are adulterated or misbranded, even if someone else caused the adulteration or misbranding in the first place. If you introduce it into interstate commerce or receive it in interstate commerce, you are responsible. The law applies to components and packaging as well as to finished products.”
