My name is Katerina Johnson (Katerina Bricker) and this blog was for my Technology in health promotion class. I chose this topic due to the fact that during my time at Brigham Young University (BYU), I wrote a paper on Counterfeit Drugs and had the luxury of getting it published in the College of Health and Human Performance (CHHP) student journal. This topic is very interesting to me and I want to learn more about it, so I decided this would be a great opportunity to do just that and keep up with current events on counterfeit drugs.

I graduated from Hanford High School in June 2008 and concurrently received my associates in arts and sciences from Columbia Basin College also in June of 2008. I then transferred down to BYU as a junior and then had the ability to walk in April 2010 and receive my diploma that following August, upon my completion of an internship.  I have learned a lot during my course of study at BYU and I still continue to learn everyday through my internships and research.

Basically, I am 23-years-old and a proud graduate from BYU. I majored in Public health with a business management minor. I walked in April 2010 and to finish my requirements for my degree I had to complete an internship, which I did in Spring/Summer of 2010 with Partnership for Safe Medicines and Pharmaceutical Security Institute.

After I finished my degree I worked as a Property Rights Alliance intern at American’s for Tax Reform. Now I am job hunting and trying to save up to getting my masters. If you would like to know more about my experiences you can click on the “My Internship” tab. I really wish to work within the military or in some form of uniformed service or within advocacy, so I can enact policies and advocate for different health issues. I am applying for administrative staff assistance/office assistants/etc. I am thinking also government would be great too. I love experiencing things and learning things. The more I know the more people I can enact with and I love that.

hi — very interesting blog and website. do you have the paper that you got published in the CHHP student journal? i would very much like to read it.

i’m an academic researcher in california [university of california, san diego school of medicine, california western school of law, and san diego state university school of public health]. i’m also the VP of the partnership for safe medicines [PSM], which is a membership organization interested in safety of the drug supply.

please let me or PSM know if we can help you in your efforts. if you are interested, is the PSM website and has a bunch of materials available, and you can sign up for news updates and the safemeds alert system, which emails participants when a formal counterfeit drug alert is issued by any government. i hope you pursue this very important public health issue in your future career.

my best wishes and regards,

Dear Katerina,
Wary of fake drugs? Bilcare’s Technologies nCID has a solution. For the first time in India Bilcare technologies nCID launched its brand protection product called nCID which help in Product Authentication, which enables consumers to verify the authenticity of a pharmaceutical product by scanning the nCID code on a drug.
Bilcare’s technologies nCID, a specialist in Brand protection has entered in pharmaceutical space and extended its service across the globe from US to Asia. Bilcare technologies nCID has many clients in the pharmaceutical hubs of Mumbai and Bangalore.
Bilcare’s nCID main function is to connect the consumer with the pharmaceutical manufacturer by its nCID product authentication platform to verify the authenticity of a pharmaceutical product. It is being done by scanning the unique nCID code on the drug, in real time.
India is one of the largest countries in exporting medicines to several nations as much as 150 countries of the world but plagued by counterfeit medicines made elsewhere and which defamed India.
Best Regards,
